Swimsuits

Hey guys and happy Thursday! I am sorry this post is late but I just finished my last final so the past few days have been crazy.

Anyway, it’s summertime!! Which means… the dreaded swimsuit try ons. the anxiety as you walk into the dressing room and hope that this swimsuit looks good.

There is such a stereotype around swimsuits. the idea that a “bikini body” is a body that is toned and super skinny. This contributes to so much self esteem damage because that body type is not everyone’s body type. Everyone has their own unique body. Even if you do the same workouts or eat the same as someone else, you will still have your own unique body. That is beautiful. We should focus on that more than the “ideal” swimsuit body.

Focus on being your best in your own body. If you want to wear a bikini, you do you and rock that bikini. You won’t be any less of yourself if you do. If you don’t want to wear one, then don’t. You won’t be any less “sexy” because you don’t wear one.

Swimsuits should be about confidence and feeling our best and enjoying the sun and the water and all of the relaxation that goes along with them. They should not be a source of anxiety and stress because we are concerned about what other’s will think.

I know this is harder than it sounds because I am going through this right now as well. However, we can overcome this. We can have the confidence we deserve and we will all look beautiful. Your confidence is more beautiful and sexy than a swimsuit could ever be.

So, don’t buy into the idea that there is only one type of bikini body. Also, don’t buy into the idea that bikinis are the only attractive or sexy swimsuits. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and have fun! Enjoy the sun and relaxation!

Stay bold and beautiful!
